The company was founded by Abraham Moon in 1837, the year Queen Victoria succeeded to the British throne. Throughout the world 'Moon' has become synonymous with design and innovation.
Natural fibres predominate in the company's collection - wool, cashmere, silk, linen and others. Combining tradition and progress it produces cloth of the highest quality.
All Moon woollen furnishing fabrics are manufactured at Moon's totally vertical plant in Guiseley, West Yorkshire; from here all the processes from dyeing and blending the raw wool fibres to spinning of the melange yarns are carefully controlled, weaving and then finishing the fabrics. This combination of a flexible manufacturing plant and the creative flair within the business comes together to produce very unique looking tweed woollen fabrics.
